Information Outreach Programmes

Sri Lanka Standards Institution (SLSI) being the National Standards Body of Sri Lanka provides multifaceted services such as Formulation of National Standards, Training on Quality Management, Certification, Testing, Calibration to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the industry and trade activities. SLSI the sole representative of Sri Lanka in the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is an organization with a conscientious vision to provide leadership in uplifting the quality of life of the nation through Standardization and Quality improvement in all sectors of the economy.

In this context, SLSI conducts awareness programmes free of charge to general public, education entities and Micro, Small and Medium (MSME) industries to make them aware and educate them on benefits of standardization & quality and services of the SLSI. Standards and Services Promotion Division of SLSI organizes these programmes.

Awareness Programmes for Schools & Universities

SLSI conducts lecture programmes to enrich the knowledge of future leaders in secondary and tertiary education institutions with quality and standardization to make them productive to the enrichment of the national economic needs. Standards and Services Promotion Division of SLSI organizes the programmes, providing resource personnel to the Schools and Universities to have a session online or onsite. SLSI provides these opportunities which are arranged free of charge as a service to the future of the nation.

Awareness Programmes for State Institutions and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME)

SLSI performs a major role in encouraging and uplifting Micro, Small and Medium scale Entrepreneurs (MSME). In which, SLSI works to educate entrepreneurs about quality certifications provided by SLSI and the process of obtaining such certifications. Through obtaining these certifications, entrepreneurs have many advantages, such as building the company's reputation, developing organizational productivity and customer trust, minimize customer complaints, ability to use it as a marketing tool and triumph global markets. These awareness programmes are conducted online as well as onsite in Sinhala, Tamil and English languages in favour of all communities. Apart from direct community engagement SLSI also provides awareness programmes to enlighten the personnel in State Institutions to disseminate the knowledge on standards and certifications.

The aim of these programmes are to create a quality-oriented entrepreneurial community and to provide high-quality goods and services to the people of the nation.
