Electrical and electronics testing laboratory of Sri Lanka Standards Institution (SLSI) is a prominent National Laboratory for testing of household electrical products. Electrical products are tested for safety, performance, durability and also for energy efficiency in accordance with National and International standards at advanced test facilities in the laboratory.

Qualified and competent staff of the laboratory is always committed to provide reliable test data in a professional, user friendly manner.

It carries out testing of following products.

• Electric Appliances (such as Electric fans and regulators, Grills, toasters and similar portable cooking appliances, Electric immersion water heaters)

The laboratory is Accredited for Self – Ballasted LED lamps and Self – Ballasted Integral Type Compact Fluorescent Lamps and LED lamps.

The Microbiology Laboratory of SLSI is a testing laboratory involved in testing of a wide range of food products, water, fertilizer as well as cosmetic items for microbiological parameters based on national and international standards or as per customer requirements. It is a well designed, fully equipped, self contained with modern testing facility manned by qualified, well trained and experienced staff.

A vast range of products are tested in this laboratory and major product categories are listed below.

SLSI Microbiology laboratory has been accredited by Sri Lanka Accreditation Board (SLAB) for Water/ Ice, Desiccated Coconut, Ice cream, Milk Products, Fishery Products, Meat products, Heat Processed foods, Vegetable Products, Canned Foods, Poultry Products, Edible Oils and Derived Products, Tea and Beverages.
