Today's dominating economic model is linear. This means that raw materials are used to manufacture
product and after its use any waste is thrown away. Because of the linear economic model, we are
facing challenges due to waste, climatic changes, resource scarcity, loss of biodiversity etc.
Circular economy is alternative to the linear model and objective is to produce goods and services in
sustainable way by limiting the consumption and waste of resources as well as the production of
waste.
